Driving and texting are really two things that don’t go together. In this era of technology and information it can be hard to resist the urge to stay connected, even while driving 65 MPH on a crowded highway. If you’re guilty of over-checking your phone, or have a teen who you want to stop from texting and driving there is a new device by Scosche which will block your some of your phones features while driving.
CellCONTROL is designed by Scosche and will block select features while driving such as text messages, e-mail, internet, camera, and other applications. It still allows hands-free calling and music so you can keep enjoying your phones safer features.
In order to set up this system in your vehicle there are three steps required. You’ll need to register online with Scosche. After that, you just need to download their application on the phone and plug the dongle into your vehicle. The dongle plugs straight into the OBD-II interface on your vehicle. (If your vehicle is a 1996 model or later, you should have this port.) The dongle will sense when the vehicle is moving and will activate the software on the phone via Bluetooth. This will block the bad habit apps and features and keep the user much more focused and safe on the road.
The software is compatible with phones using Android 2.1 and above, all Blackbery 4.5 and above, all Windows Mobile 5 and 6, all Symbian S60 (3rd Edition) and select Brew and BREWMP systems. The mobile phone must have a data plan to use the software. The system is not compatible with the iPhone. Stop the urge to check your phone and keep yourself safer while on the road with Scosche’s cellCONTROL.
