JL Audio Thin-Line 10TW3-D4 – 400W Peak (200W RMS) 10″ TW3 (Thin-Line Series) Dual 4-ohm Shallow Mount Subwoofer

Durability: 5 | Value: 4.9 | Features: 5 | Design: 5 | Usability: 5
JL Audio’s Thin-Line 10TW3-D4 10″ car subwoofer is built to deliver deep, punchy bass while taking up as little room as possible. Incorporating innovations first seen in JL Audio’s Thin-Line TW5 subwoofers, the Thin-Line 10TW3-D4 is characterized by a shallow mounting depth and a large excursion range.
This particular subwoofer is distinguished by its Thin-Line design, which is a powerful expansion of the technology found in the company’s Thin-Line TW5 subwoofers and allows it to be positioned in shallow depths. So, it’s a great choice for individuals who want to upgrade their car’s sound system with a subwoofer but don’t want to give up too much trunk space to do so.
The exceptional power handling capabilities are yet another characteristic that sets the JL Audio Thin-Line 10TW3-D4 apart. Small in stature, but packs a punch in the bass department, thanks to its RMS power handling of 600 watts and peak power handling of 1200 watts.
The JL Audio Thin-Line 10TW3-D4 has a patented design that makes it capable of producing stunningly clear and detailed audio. The subwoofer’s linearity and efficiency have been upgraded thanks to the incorporation of patented technology, the DMA-optimized motor.
The “concentric tube” structure included in the TW3s’ injection-molded cone body is part of JL Audio’s patented thin-line woofer technology, which allows for such a remarkable accomplishment. The large motor assembly can now be placed farther front in the speaker without compromising the ability to use a full-circle spider and a voice coil.

“Awesome subs, perfect for limited space.” – ★★★★★
I’ve got 2 of these in a sealed downfiring box in a 2000 Ford F150 under my back seat. These things are legit. They’re a little pricey but if you’ve got limited space, there’s not a better option out there. Classic JL. Clean, hard, crisp, deep bass. Just perfect sound. They hit hard, a lot harder than you would expect a smaller woofer like this would, just as hard if not harder than 12″ Alpine type r’s or kicker cvr’s which i’ve owned in the past. But the quality of the sound is much better.
The one negative is that one of them has blown after about 14 months of hard use. I really don’t know who’s to blame; myself, the amp, or the sub itself. The other one was perfectly fine, I just replaced the blown one since the 1 yr manuf warranty had expired. Aside from that, I can’t say anything bad about the sub.
Highly recommended.

Sonic Electronix CustomerNVX VCW104v3 (Newest Version) – 1600 Watt (800W RMS) 10″ VC-Series Dual 4-ohm Car Subwoofer

Durability: 4.9 | Value: 4.9 | Features: 5 | Design: 4.9 | Usability: 5
The NVX VCW104v3 is the best choice if you’re looking for a powerful subwoofer. The newest model is stylish and stealthy, with a matte black finish on the basket and magnet. In their makeover of the V2, NVX did away with the diamond-cut basket and chrome magnet – this enhanced the overall aesthetic quality and made the subwoofer sound better.
The spider design has been strengthened by including Dual Progressive Spiders with Integrated Tinsel Leads, and it now has a more streamlined appearance. Before this, the V1 had two spiders; however, one was far larger than the other, and the other worked as a helper. As of version 3.0, NVX employs Double Stacked full-size spiders – this extends the subwoofer’s life and allows for an audible 22mm increase in Xmax. Last but not least, the spider has been upgraded with a locking plate that is securely fastened atop the spider. This ensures that the spider won’t get loose from its perch in the basket. This subwoofer has been upgraded to a newer, more robust model than ever.
Cone distortion is kept to a minimum even at maximum volume thanks to the combination of a woven fiber pressed paper cone and a unique High Roll foam surround with Nylon stitching. Large dual 2.5″ High-Temperature Aluminum voice coils and a triple-stacked motor structure are the following crucial features of the VCW104v3’s design. Together, they allow this sub’s 800 Watts RMS power rating to handle much more safely. As a bonus, the presence of two voice coils means you can use a wide variety of wire arrangements for loads of varying ohm ratings. The VCW104v3 subwoofer outperforms many other subs that cost nearly twice as much. More importantly, these subwoofers sound fantastic, especially in compact, sealed enclosures.
Item highlights
• RMS Power Range: 650-800 watts
• Pressed Paper Cone Carbon Fiber Top
• Dual 4-ohm Voice Coil
• High Excursion Foam Surround
• Dual Progressive Spiders with Integrated Tinsel Leads
“Incredible sub, power, and best of all, low price!!” – ★★★★★
I absolutely love my NVX VCW 10-4s. They are the best subs I have had out of the 4 systems I have had. These are even comparable in power and how hard they hit to my old Rockford Fosgate T1 12s. For anyone who is looking for a high powered system in a small package that will amaze everyone, these are definitely the route to go. This was the first time the audio shop I use have used or even heard of NVX. They are now looking to add them to their product line that they sell. Everyone there was impressed by the power and size. I have them in a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 in a ported dual 10″ fox acoustic box. If I could do it over again I would do this exact same set up in a heartbeat. If you are thinking of pulling the trigger on getting these subs, definitely do it! I promise you will not be disappointed. They also have great durability. I hve only had them for 30 days but they have been torture tested (and so was I indirectly lol) when I played them for 5 hours straight, full power, heavy bass songs without a single issue. I did this twice during a long road trip.

NVX VSW104v2 (VSW104 v2) – 500W Peak (300W RMS) 10″ VS-Series Dual 4-ohm Car Subwoofer

Durability: 4.8 | Value: 4.8 | Features: 4.6 | Design: 4.8 | Usability: 4.9
When it comes to low frequencies, the NVX VSW104v2 provides the goods. NVX’s subwoofers have a non-pressed paper cone and a PP dust cap that have been optimized for high response and high sound pressure levels. The blended high-density foam that encases the cone is carefully treated to increase its excursion. This treatment retains the cone in place. In terms of Xmax, these subwoofers can provide as much as 12mm.
The 2.5″ aluminum voice coil found in the VSW104v2 ensures that power is distributed evenly across the whole enclosure. All subwoofers in the VS-Series use dual voice coils. Due to their adaptability, dual voice coil (DVC) subwoofers have gained a strong following among automobile audio aficionados. With DVC subwoofers, the installer has additional leeway in deciding whether to wire the subs in parallel or in series.
The metal shorting ring is what sets apart the NVX VSW104v2 from other subwoofers on the market. An aluminum ring with conductive studs is inserted into the space between the pole piece and the voice coil to lessen inductance. Because of this, the subwoofer can reproduce a wider range of bass frequency range with less distortion. This means that the subwoofer’s voice coils will receive a more significant amount of power, resulting in the better overall sound. NVX’s affordable pricing allows you to have all the bells and whistles that are usually reserved for more expensive subwoofers.
Item highlights
• 10″ VS-Series Subwoofer
• Dual 4-ohm Voice Coil
• RMS Range: 350 – 500 Watts
• Non-Pressed Paper With Woven Carbon Fiber Top
• High Excursion Foam Surround
• Stamped Steel Basket
• Single Nomex Spider
“don’t let the low price fool you – this is an awesome sub!” – ★★★★★
picked one of these up because I am limited to only 350 watts RMS and this sub impressed the heck outta me! I entered the TS parameters in an enclosure modeling app (speaker box lite) and built a box similar to the specs the app suggested for maximum flat output and this inexpensive sub hits lows I didn’t expect. I played a test sweep from 10hz to 100hz and it handled the whole sweep like a champ! it’s not even broken in yet either! my enclosure is 1.62 cuft tuned to 25hz. my f3 is 22hz and my f10 is 18hz. since I am going for SQ, I am only around 115-120db, but that is loud enough for me. definitely recommend this sub, or any NVX for that matter – my buddy has a vcw104 and it is equally impressive (can handle more power tho) – and with their prices you can’t go wrong!

Sonic Electronix CustomerJL Audio 10W0v3-4 – 600W Peak (300W RMS) 10″ W0v3 Series Single 4-Ohm Subwoofer

Durability: 4.9 | Value: 4.9 | Features: 4.9 | Design: 4.9 | Usability: 5
The JL Audio 10W0v3-4 is a high-performance car subwoofer known for its strong bass and excellent sound quality. This subwoofer is from JL Audio’s W0v3 series, which is known for being small and having high output. The 10W0v3-4 model is a 10-inch subwoofer that can be used in a sealed or ported enclosure.
The W0v3 has excellent excursion capability, linearity, and overall performance, putting it at the top of its price class. The driver has a very beefy voice coil with a 2.0-inch diameter, a DMA-optimized motor system, and JL Audio’s patented Elevated Frame Cooling design. All these things were made to handle more power and be more reliable. This also means that your system will boost volume and sound quality immediately, as you would expect from a JL Audio product. It can also make sub-bass sounds that are long and clear because it has good excursion and linearity. With the right power source, signal, and setup, the W0v3 can make a well-rounded sound that no other driver in its price range can match.
As little as 75 Watts can be used to power the 10W0v3 subwoofer. But for the best sound, you should use an amplifier like the JL Audio XD300/1v2 or JL Audio JX500/1D that can provide between 200 and 300 Watts of continuous power per driver. Also, these subwoofers are designed to work well in a ported or sealed enclosure. A sealed box only needs 0.65 cubic feet of air space, while a ported/vented box needs 1.125 cubic feet.
DMA is the Dynamic Motor Analysis system made by JL Audio. Its goal is to give better dynamic stability and less distortion. Because of DMA optimization, W0v3 motors keep their motor force linear over a wide range of excursions and keep a very stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide range of power. This makes for tight, clean, clear bass that is also very linear, can handle a lot of power, and is very easy to control.
Item highlights
• 300 Watts RMS
• Sensitivity: 84.07 dB
• Mineral-Filled Polypropylene Cone
• Large Roll Surround
• Elevated Frame Cooling
• DMA Optimized Motor System
• Metallic Silver Frame Finish
“Great sound for a “shallow” sub” – ★★★★★
I had always wanted a JL sub because of the great reviews I’ve read. I am so glad I stuck to my guts and got the W0. I know is rated at 300 watts rms, but do not let this fool you, this sub hits HARD! I paired this sub (single 10 inch) with a Boss mono amp running 300 Watts @ 4 ohms in a ported pro box for my 05 ram 1500 regular cab and couldn’t not be happier. I did the big 3 upgrade because of the amp needing constant 14 volts in order to keep up. All that aside, this sub looks and sounds AMAZING!!! JL does an outstanding job with the design and quality of their products. I would highly recommend this sub to anyone wanting to add some “entry level” bass to their sound system. You will not be disappointed.
